CAMP FIRE USA GREATER DAYTON AREA COUNCIL

MISSION STATEMENT:

Camp Fire USA builds caring confident youth and future leaders.

WHO WE ARE:

Formed locally in the 1930's, Camp Fire USA Greater Dayton Area Council is a chartered member of National Camp Fire USA - one of the nation's oldest, largest, and most dedicated youth-development organizations.

WHAT WE DO:

Our council empowers children to strengthen their social and life skills, improve their physical health and well-being, enhance their school readiness/academic skills, and increase parent-child interaction, for becoming self-sufficient and contributing community members in every day after-school and summer day camp programs.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Our success in creating new opportunities for under-served children has been recognized by the National Association of Housing & Development with NAHRO Awards of Merit in Housing & Community for our innovational programs.

In 2006, our organization received the Non-Profit Business/Organization of the Year Award from the Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce for improving the quality of life and ensuring the future of the community by helping under-served children and their entire family participating in our after-school programs.

Our outreach neighborhood-based approach to service has been the best route to foster the trust and confidence of both youth and families targeted for service.  We have won the trust of the community because of our "staying power," helping parents to develop their children over the course of time and empowering youth to realize measurable outcomes improving the quality of life and ensuring the future of the community by helping children and their family participating in our after-school programs.
